# Slack

Get notified in Slack when a referral event happens.

## How to connect to Slack

**Step 1:** In *Program Editor > 4. Options > Integrations*, click the *Connect to Slack* button

**Step 2:** Approve Slack permissions

**Step 3:** Connect the channel that you want to send GrowSurf notifications to

**Trying to connect a private Slack channel?**

To select a private Slack channel, both you and the GrowSurf Slack app must already be members of it. Invite the app in Slack first, then refetch.

## Notification event types

* Choose which notifications you receive in the advanced Slack settings.
* With *New Participant Reward* alerts, you can approve rewards and mark them as sent directly within Slack. Marking a reward as sent does not confirm delivery.
